Wanjinshi Marathon 2027 registration opens with route updates

Registration for the 2027 New Taipei City Wanjinshi Marathon officially opened on October 15, 2026. Scheduled to take place on March 21, 2027, the event marks its 25th anniversary.

To celebrate the milestone, organizers have introduced two major updates. First, the race route has been optimized to remove the steep 'McDonald's Slope' in the Jinshan District, replacing it with a flatter section along Taiwan Provincial Highway 2 to help runners achieve personal best times. Second, a special 25th-anniversary promotion offers a chance for 25 runners in both the marathon and challenge categories to win free entry if they turn exactly 25 years old on the day of the race.

Registration remains open until October 30, 2026, with lottery results to be announced on November 3. The event includes a full marathon (42.195 km) and a 10 km challenge course. Foreign athletes are exempt from the lottery process.
