Warabi mochi specialty shop Mondo offers variety of flavors

Warabi mochi specialty shop Mondo is featuring its ‘Hon Warabi mochi [Zaimi]’, a confection made with authentic warabi powder designed to provide a melting texture. The product is served with three distinct types of kinako (roasted soybean flour): Fukuyutaka, black sesame, and deep-roasted varieties, allowing consumers to compare different flavor profiles.

The name ‘Zaimi’ is derived from the classical Chinese idiom ‘Kobi Zeimi’, where ‘Zeimi’ refers to delicious sweets with a meltingly soft texture. The confection is marketed as a versatile seasonal treat, suitable as flower-viewing sweets in spring, refreshing summer snacks, tea accompaniments in autumn, or slightly warmed treats in winter.

Mondo has announced the opening of its first Shikoku location in Takamatsu on November 12, 2026.
