Waratah West shooting victim identifies alleged gunman in court

A man who was shot in the neck during a confrontation at his Waratah West home has identified his alleged attacker during a trial at the Newcastle District Court. The victim testified that the incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on January 24 following a dispute regarding the defendant, Osborne.

According to court testimony, the animosity between the two men reportedly stemmed from a previous BMW purchase. The victim stated that while he was assisting family members with a motorbike outside his residence, Osborne approached him while wearing a dark hoodie and carrying a satchel. After a verbal exchange, the victim reported seeing a flash and hearing footsteps, resulting in a gunshot wound that caused the bullet to lodge in his throat.
