Wardenburg Fire Brigade Unveils New Transport Vehicle and Drone at Family Festival
On 26 July 2026, the Littel fire department of the Wardenburg municipality in Germany held a family festival for its active and senior members and their families. The event was used to thank supporters and to introduce two new pieces of equipment.
Mayor Christoph Reents officially handed over a second fire‑department drone to Ortsbrandmeister Tobias Hollmann. The rain‑capable drone will serve all three local fire stations and can be deployed in adverse weather for searches, fire monitoring and storm operations.
At the same ceremony the brigade received a new crew transport vehicle (MTW) built on a VW Crafter chassis by Schoon Fahrzeugbau of Wiesmoor. Ordered in April 2025, the vehicle features eight seats, a 95 kW engine, a 3.5‑tonne GVW, a 230‑volt power transformer and an onboard generator. Two drones will be carried on the MTW for aerial reconnaissance.
Local officials—including Ada Heptner, Frank Hattendorf, Maik Bäcker and others—joined the mayor and fire chief for speeches, a vehicle and drone inspection, and community activities such as a bouncy‑castle for children.
