Wardogs developers offer to cover costs for fan-made tactical tool
Cory Niblett, a fan of the game Wardogs, developed a free tactical mapping tool called wardogs.tech to help the community coordinate strategies. The tool allows players to mark landing zones, enemy positions, and supply routes in real-time.
Due to the tool's rapid popularity, with over 37,500 users, Niblett faced significant hosting costs. His AWS bill for the launch week alone reached $1,372. In response, Mark ‘phantasy’ Pinney from BULKHEAD, the studio behind Wardogs, offered to cover the service's costs for the first month.
Niblett declined the financial assistance, stating his intention to continue supporting the community by working on infrastructure improvements to make the application more efficient and sustainable. The project remains a fan-led initiative and is not officially affiliated with BULKHEAD or Team17.
