WARDOGS reaches 3 million sales in two weeks
The tactical first-person shooter WARDOGS, developed by Bulkhead Interactive and published by Team17, has surpassed 3 million copies sold within approximately two weeks of its early access launch on Steam. The game reached a peak of over 428,000 concurrent users and has been nominated for ‘Best Early Access Game 2026’ at the Golden Joystick Awards.
Bulkhead Interactive CEO Joe Brammer reported that the studio has been managing significant challenges following the launch, including DDoS attacks and cheating. Due to the physical and mental exhaustion of the launch period, the company implemented a mandatory holiday for a portion of the development team to reset before upcoming updates.
Season 2 is scheduled to debut on October 15, 2026, and is expected to introduce a dynamic weather system. This update will also include a full progression reset for all players to rebalance the competitive environment and the in-game economy. While currently available on PC, Bulkhead confirmed that console versions for Xbox and PS5 are planned for 2028.
