Wardogs reaches 2 million sales following successful Steam launch

The tactical shooter Wardogs, developed by Bulkhead and published by Team17, has achieved significant commercial success following its Steam Early Access launch on September 10, 2026. The title surpassed 2 million copies sold in less than five days and reached a peak of over 428,000 concurrent players on Steam. Financial reports indicate the game has generated approximately $70 million in revenue, outpacing other recent titles like Helldivers 2 in launch-aligned sales.

Amidst this success, Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer has faced scrutiny regarding studio culture. Following media reports suggesting mandatory overtime, Brammer clarified that while intensive work periods occur during development, the studio implements a four-day work week for half of the development cycle and provides a full month of holiday in December. He noted that the studio seeks employees who are deeply committed to the quality of their work.

In related business news, Everplay Group (formerly Team17 Group) has increased its stake in Super Media Group, the nominal owner of Bulkhead, to 28% following the game's strong performance. While the game has seen a slight decline in concurrent players from its initial peak, the studio is focusing on community feedback to guide upcoming content for Season 2.
