Wardogs achieves massive Steam success with 2 million sales
Bulkhead’s new tactical multiplayer shooter, Wardogs, has achieved massive commercial success following its Early Access launch on Steam. The game sold over one million copies within its first 24 hours and reached approximately 2 million sales within five days. During its peak, the title saw concurrent player counts exceeding 400,000.
The rapid surge in players caused technical challenges, including long queue times and server strain. In response, Bulkhead released Patch 0.11 to improve the server browser and address community server issues. The developers also issued warnings regarding players using XP-farming exploits, stating that accounts found participating in such activities risk permanent bans.
Wardogs is currently available exclusively on PC. While the studio has confirmed plans for console releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, these are not expected until 2028. CEO Joe Brammer noted that the current Early Access phase is intended to allow for bug fixes, content development, and community feedback before the full release.
