Warehouse fires break out in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Colmar, France

A large fire erupted in a 33,000‑square‑metre storage warehouse on the Mercedes Aubin garage site in Nuits‑Saint‑Georges, Côte‑d’Or. About 44 firefighters from multiple local stations, three fire trucks, two large ladders, an ambulance and a drone team were deployed to contain the blaze and protect nearby structures. The incident remains under control but the investigation into its cause is ongoing.

In Colmar, Haut‑Rhin, an early‑morning blaze on 7 July destroyed a vehicle‑inspection centre on Rue du Ladhof. The fire caused extensive smoke, collapsed parts of the brick‑and‑sheet building and blocked traffic in the area. Local authorities, including the mayor and a police judicial officer, inspected the site, and a mobile command unit coordinated the response. The structure is at risk of further collapse and remains closed.
