Warendorf implements traffic restrictions for Fettmarkt festival

The traditional Fettmarkt and Kirmes festival in Warendorf will result in various traffic and parking restrictions in the old town and around the fairgrounds starting October 12, 2026. Specific parking areas, including Lohwall and Emspromenade, will face closures at different stages of the event.

To ensure visitor safety, an access protection system will be implemented during peak hours. Additionally, the old town will be inaccessible to vehicles between 08:00 and 16:00 on the Fettmarkt Wednesday due to security measures. Alternative parking will be available at the Wiesengrund fairground parking, the former Lidl location on Andreasstraße, and the Josephshof riding facility. Residents with parking permits can park at the Wiesengrund lot for free, while others may obtain free parking vouchers from the Warendorf Tourist Information or the mobile market office.
