Warendorf proposes 2035 urban and administrative development package
The city administration of Warendorf has presented the ‘Zukunftspaket Warendorf 2035’ to the city council. This comprehensive concept aims to reorganize administration, personnel, and spatial requirements to facilitate urban development.
Key measures include reducing the number of full-time positions by at least 25 by 2035 and decreasing the administrative office space by at least 20 percent. A central component is the proposed creation of an administrative campus on Langen Kesselstraße, modeled after Dutch ‘one-stop-shop’ municipal structures to provide centralized services.
The plan also involves relocating the adult education center (VHS) and consolidating the city library and tourist information center into a ‘citizen campus’ on the Brinkhaus site.
