Warisan Party faces internal leadership elections and Pan Borneo controversy
The Parti Warisan is navigating internal leadership transitions and political criticism regarding the Pan Borneo Highway project in Sabah. Eight candidates are contesting for the position of Vice President in the party's 2026–2029 term elections, a move described by party information chief Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman as a positive sign of leadership interest within the organization.
Separately, DAP Sabah has called on Warisan to take responsibility for the 2019 cancellation of the Project Delivery Partner (PDP) model for the Pan Borneo Highway. Thien Ee Hang, DAP Sabah Publicity Secretary, criticized Warisan leaders for blaming former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng while omitting the role of Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, who previously acknowledged in Parliament that he had personally proposed the cancellation of the PDP model to the federal government during his tenure as Sabah Chief Minister.
