Warm weekend temperatures approach records across US regions

A period of summer-like warmth is expected across parts of the central United States this weekend, with temperatures nearing record levels. In southern Minnesota and northern Iowa, highs are projected to reach the mid-80s. Strong wind gusts of up to 35 mph may cause blowing dust, potentially reducing visibility for travelers during the peak harvest season.

In other regions, including the Mississippi and Ohio valleys, weather patterns will be influenced by the movement of tropical systems and shifting pressure. High temperatures could reach the 90s in some areas early next week before a slow-moving front brings rounds of rain and storms to parts of Missouri. Following these storms, a significant cooldown is anticipated, with temperatures dropping into the 50s or even the upper 30s to low 40s by late next weekend.
