Warmond duck decoy management agreement extended to 2036

The Municipality of Teylingen and Stichting Eendenkooi Warmond have signed a new management agreement to preserve the historic Warmond duck decoy for the next ten years, extending cooperation until 2036.

The 400-year-old site serves as a location for nature, biodiversity, recreation, and education. Since 2009, the foundation has managed the area through volunteer efforts. The new management plan focuses on maintaining natural values, strengthening biodiversity, and ensuring the site remains accessible to visitors and schools.

During a site visit following the signing, maintenance needs were identified that exceed the capacity of current volunteers, including the replacement of revetments and addressing soil erosion near the water inlet caused by strong currents.
