Warner Bros. Announces Batman: Knightfall Animated Trilogy

Warner Bros. Animation, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment unveiled the official trailer for a new three‑part animated adaptation of the Batman: Knightfall comic arc at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France (June 21‑27). The first installment, titled *Batman: Knightfall Part 1 – Knightfall*, follows Bane’s release of Arkham’s inmates, the relentless assault on Bruce Wayne, and the introduction of Jean‑Paul Valley (Azrael) as a temporary successor. The film is directed by Jeff Wamester, scripted by Jeremy Adams and carries an R rating for adult audiences.

The voice cast includes Anson Mount as Batman, Michael Mando as Bane, Pablo Schreiber as Azrael and David Dastmalchian in supporting roles. The project is positioned as a standalone but tone‑compatible series within the broader DC universe, aiming to deliver a faithful, gritty rendition of the 1993‑94 storyline.

Earlier, Warner Bros. released the 2008 animated anthology *Batman: Gotham Knight*, a six‑short collection set between *Batman Begins* and *The Dark Knight*. Though produced by the same studio, the anthology is considered a separate, non‑canonical companion to Nolan’s live‑action films.
