Warner Bros. Discovery acquires Epstein documentary for HBO Max
Warner Bros. Discovery has acquired the international distribution rights to ‘Diabolical: The Epstein Files’, a 90-minute documentary produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The film is scheduled to debut on HBO Max starting September 3, 2026, across various international markets including the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, and several regions in Eastern Europe and the Baltics.
The documentary examines the rise and fall of Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender who operated a long-term sex trafficking network involving minors. Beyond the criminal timeline, the film investigates the systemic failures within legal, social, and law enforcement institutions that allowed the abuse to continue unchecked for years.
Featuring first-hand accounts from survivors such as Lisa Phillips and Ashley Rubright, as well as insights from Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, and attorney David Schoen, the project aims to explore the intersection of power, wealth, and impunity.
