Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav Loses $80M Bid for Mohawk Day Camp

Warner Bros. Discovery chief executive David Zaslav entered a bidding war for Mohawk Day Camp, a historic summer camp in Westchester County, New York. He initially offered $68 million and later raised his bid to $80 million, describing the purchase as a "personal family investment" that reflects his belief in the value of summer‑camp experiences.

Despite the increased offer, Zaslav was outbid by other interested parties, including hedge‑fund investors. Mohawk Day Camp is one of roughly 30 camps that entered bankruptcy after the Shabsels brothers' Simad camp empire collapsed. Camp officials say operations will continue and the bidding dispute does not affect campers, staff, or programming.

No winner of the auction has been announced, and the situation remains under observation as the broader camp portfolio is reorganized.
