Warner Bros. Discovery confirms Hogwarts Legacy sequel development

Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that a sequel to the successful RPG 'Hogwarts Legacy' is in development. In a communication to shareholders, the company highlighted its intention to focus on major franchises, including the Harry Potter IP, to drive studio profitability.

Following Paramount's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on October 6, 2026, WB Games and Avalanche Software now operate under the Skydance umbrella. Previous reports indicated that the sequel might coordinate narrative elements with the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series.

Separately, a new unofficial multiplayer mod for the PC version of the original game, titled 'HogwartsMP', has been released. The mod currently offers shared story progression and proximity voice chat, with developers planning to introduce PvP combat in a forthcoming update.
