Warner Bros. faces backlash over AI-generated

Warner Bros. Pictures is facing backlash following a promotional campaign for its upcoming sci-fi film, "The End of Oak Street." The studio collaborated with the Montreal-based AI podcast "DogPack" to release a 90-second clip featuring AI-generated canine characters, Goldie and Frenchie, interviewing a dog from the film.

The clip, which features characters voiced by Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway's pet, has drawn criticism on platforms like Reddit and X. Many viewers labeled the content "AI slop," with some expressing confusion over whether the film itself utilizes AI. Reports indicate the reaction was significant enough that Warner Bros. appears to have removed the clip from its official Instagram account, though the video remains available on other platforms.

Directed by David Robert Mitchell and produced by J. J. Abrams under his Bad Robot banner, "The End of Oak Street" follows a suburban family surviving a dinosaur invasion after their neighborhood is transported through space-time. The film is scheduled to open in cinemas this Friday.
