Warner Bros. Animation releases new Dr. Seuss film The Cat in the Hat

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has released a new animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s classic book, The Cat in the Hat. Directed by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja, the film expands the original story by introducing the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration (I.I.I.I.), where the Cat serves as a specialist tasked with cheering up children.

The plot follows the Cat, voiced by Bill Hader, as he attempts to restore joy to siblings Gabby and Sebastian following their move to a new city. To succeed and save his iconic hat, the Cat must navigate his chaotic nature while adhering to specific rules. The production utilizes a mix of visual styles, including 3D animation and stylized 2D elements, to depict different worlds such as the Real World and Seuss World.

The film features a voice cast including America Ferrera, Xochitl Gomez, Tiago Martinez, Quinta Brunson, and Matt Berry. Critics have noted the film as a successful departure from the 2003 live-action adaptation, praising its visual creativity and its ability to balance humor for both children and adults.
