Unverified reports suggest that Warner Bros. may have canceled a planned spin-off series centered on the Marauders in favor of a full reboot of the Harry Potter franchise.

The rumored project, which was reportedly considered during the early 2020s following the launch of HBO Max, would have focused on the friendship and school years of James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew at Hogwarts. Such a series would have provided a deeper look into the creation of the Marauder's Map and the rise of Voldemort.

According to these unconfirmed reports, a writers' room may have already been assembled for the first season. However, Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav reportedly opted to prioritize the ambitious project of adapting J.K. Rowling’s seven original novels into a new television series instead of pursuing the spin-off.
