Warner Music Group to launch technology hub in Bengaluru

Warner Music Group (WMG) is expanding its global technology operations with the launch of a new hub in Bengaluru, India. Scheduled to officially open in September, the facility will focus on engineering, data infrastructure, music distribution, and digital products.

The hub will leverage artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to develop audience and marketing data products. Mahesh Rao, Director of Software Engineering and Site Lead for India, is spearheading the expansion. Rao, who previously held leadership roles at Walmart Global Tech, will manage the company’s engineering strategy, organizational design, and operating model in India.

WMG Chief Technology Officer Leho Nigul stated that the Bengaluru site is central to the company’s broader global engineering strategy. The company is currently recruiting across various technology disciplines to support its scaling efforts in the region.
