Warren authorities offer reward for information on two homicides

The city of Warren and the Warren Police Department are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for two separate homicides.

The first incident occurred on August 5 around 12:45 a.m. on Halligan Street, where 53-year-old Billy Wayne Smith was found with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene. The second incident took place on August 30 around 3 a.m. on Abernathy Street, where 35-year-old Ty Calbert died from an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division are handling both cases and stated they do not believe the two killings are connected. No arrests have been made, and both investigations remain active. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information contact the Arkansas State Police through Troop F dispatch. Tips may be provided anonymously.
