Warren Brown and team complete 19,000km Bean car re-enactment

Warren Brown, Matthew Benns, and Tony Jordan have completed a 19,000km re-enactment of Francis Birtles’ historic 1927-28 journey from London to Melbourne. Traveling in a 1925 14HP Bean car, the trio spent five months navigating various terrains and became the first Australians to drive across Saudi Arabia.

The expedition included meetings with the King of Malaysia and was documented via a film and a forthcoming coffee-table book titled ‘Chance It’. The group was welcomed back to Australia by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in January 2025. The book is scheduled for launch in Goulburn on August 22.
