Warren Buffett suspends Gates Foundation donations amid Epstein scandal

Warren Buffett, the 95‑year‑old CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has halted his annual billions‑dollar contributions to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Buffett said he will wait for the results of an external investigation into the foundation’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein before resuming any further funding. The move follows the U.S. Justice Department’s release of Epstein‑related documents and a CNBC interview in which Buffett said he has not spoken to Bill Gates since the revelations. The Gates Foundation has not commented publicly on the funding pause.

Buffett’s donations, valued at over $47 billion in shares over two decades, had been a cornerstone of the foundation’s financing. The suspension could affect the foundation’s programs until the investigation’s findings are released, expected in the summer.
