Warren Haynes announces new symphonic album ‘Dreams & Songs’

Musician Warren Haynes is releasing a new orchestral album titled ‘Dreams & Songs: A Symphonic Journey’. The project features his music reimagined by a 64-piece orchestra, including the Asheville Symphony Orchestra.

Recorded in 2019 at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville, North Carolina, the album is scheduled for release on September 18, 2026. Working with producer Don Was, Haynes curated a selection of material spanning his work with Gov’t Mule, the Allman Brothers Band, his solo career, and his connections to the Grateful Dead musical world.

Haynes noted that the project was not intended to simply add strings to rock music for its own sake, but rather to find songs that could be fundamentally transformed by the symphonic setting. The tracklist also includes covers of U2’s ‘One’ and The Band’s ‘It Makes No Difference’.
