Warrior Games returning to Orlando in 2027
The Department of Defense Warrior Games will return to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Orlando from August 7-14, 2027. This marks the third time the venue has hosted the adaptive sports competition, following previous tournaments in 2022 and 2024.
The event is designed for wounded, ill, and injured active-duty service members and veterans, including those managing visible physical injuries, non-visible conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or illnesses such as cancer. Nearly 200 competitors are expected to participate, representing the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Space Force, and U.S. Special Operations Command.
Athletes will compete in 12 adaptive sports, including archery, cycling, indoor rowing, pickleball, powerlifting, swimming, track, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, and sitting volleyball. The Fisher House Foundation is assisting with covering room and board for participating families, and the games are free for the public to attend.
