Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy looks to keep Draymond Green

Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy said the team is working to retain both Draymond Green and Kristaps Porzingis. Green holds a $27.7 million player option for the 2026‑27 season and is expected to either decline the option and sign a shorter, lower‑value contract or take a one‑year deal at roughly $27 million. Dunleavy indicated that a reduced salary would give the Warriors financial flexibility for roster moves, including using Green’s contract as a salary‑matching piece in a potential trade.

Porzingis will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the month, while the Warriors also have player options on Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton. The organization is weighing its draft position and other roster decisions as it plans for the upcoming season.
