Warsaw and Braniewo railway stations set for major modernizations
Warsaw is embarking on a major strategic investment to modernize the Warsaw East Station and its surrounding transport hub. The project, which includes the modernization of the Warszawa Stadion stop, is expected to cost nearly 3 billion PLN. Key features of the development include the construction of a long-awaited tunnel under the railway tracks between Kijowska and Żupnicza streets, aimed at connecting the Praga-North and Praga-South districts.
In another regional development, PKP has initiated a tender for design documentation to renovate the historic railway station in Braniewo. Built in 1907, the station is a registered monument. The planned modernization will focus on the building's exterior, including the roof and facade, as well as creating modern passenger facilities such as waiting rooms and public restrooms.
