Warsaw and Toruń implement new traffic lane changes
In Warsaw, a temporary re‑organisation of traffic on Alei Niepodległości will begin on Monday due to heating‑system repairs. One lane will serve traffic toward Mokotów, while only a single lane will be available for vehicles heading to the city centre. Access to Alei Niepodległości from Nowowiejskiej will remain, but exits onto the avenue will be closed. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes such as Marszałkowska or Raszyńska. The works are expected to continue until mid‑August, with tram service on the avenue delayed until mid‑September.
In Toruń, a new dedicated right‑turn lane on Kraszewskiego Street at the intersection with aleja św. Jana Pawła II opened on Thursday. The lane separates turning traffic from straight‑through traffic, easing congestion at one of the city’s busiest junctions. The project, costing 380,860 zł and carried out by Olimp Sp. z o.o., also included resurfacing, new signage, and upgraded lighting.
