Warsaw central district evacuated after discovery of unexploded ordnance

Six unexploded objects, believed to be remnants from World War II, were discovered during excavation work in central Warsaw. The find occurred near the intersection of Grzybowska and Żelazna streets.

Emergency services, including police, sappers, and firefighters, established a safety zone with a radius of 300 to 400 meters. The operation required the evacuation of approximately 4,000 people from eight nearby buildings. The discovery also caused significant disruptions to local traffic and public transportation, specifically affecting bus lines 106 and 157.
