Warsaw commemorates 87th anniversary of World War II outbreak
Commemorations are being organized in Poland to mark the 87th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. In the Ursynów district of Warsaw, ceremonies will take place on September 1 at the Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The event will include a Mass for the Fatherland and the fallen, followed by a procession to a nearby cemetery for flower laying and prayer.
The Ursynów program features an artistic performance titled ‘From poverty, war, and hunger...’ involving recitations and musical performances. Local officials, veterans, military representatives, and youth are expected to attend. Other regional religious communities are also observing the anniversary through prayer and remembrance of those who died defending the country.
