Warsaw Commuter Train Hub Hosts Large Multi‑Agency Emergency Drill

On 16 June 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00, the headquarters of Warsaw’s commuter rail operator (Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa) in Grodzisk Mazowiecki was the site of a coordinated emergency exercise. More than one hundred participants from the Polish Armed Forces (61st Light Infantry Battalion), the local police, the State Fire Service, volunteer fire units, medical rescue teams, railway staff and municipal officials took part. The drill simulated alarm activation, area security, evacuation of endangered persons and joint rescue operations to improve inter‑service cooperation and test existing emergency procedures.

The purpose of the exercise was to strengthen coordination among the various uniformed and rescue services in crisis situations and to verify the effectiveness of current rescue and evacuation protocols. Residents in the vicinity were advised to remain calm and follow any instructions from the authorities during the exercise.
