Warsaw faces disproportionate burden from addiction treatment concentration
The Jump93 Association has called for a coordinated solution regarding the uneven distribution of addiction substitution treatment in Poland. The organization highlighted that Warsaw faces an excessive concentration of these services, which creates a disproportionate burden on the capital's budget.
Beyond the costs of medical treatment reimbursed by the National Health Fund (NFZ), the city must manage additional expenses related to public safety, municipal services, social assistance, crisis intervention, and legal counseling. The association noted that certain areas, such as Praga Północ, have become hubs for medical and drug-related tourism. While recent relocations and regulations in 2026 have improved local security in Praga, the fundamental issue of unequal access to services across the country remains unresolved.
