Warsaw hosts II Conference of Palliative Medicine
The II Warsaw Conference of Palliative Medicine is currently taking place at the IBIB PAN Conference Center, focusing on the physical and spiritual needs of hospice patients. Medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, are gathering to share experiences and discuss methods to combat patient loneliness and helplessness.
Dr. Monika Figiel, coordinator of senior programs at Caritas Polska and secretary of the Hospice Council, emphasized the importance of professional exchange, suggesting that medical teams visit other facilities to enhance their own practices. The conference also highlights the vital role of volunteers in providing emotional support and companionship.
Upcoming sessions at the Medical University of Warsaw Simulation Center include workshops on psychological protection, dog therapy, pain management, nutritional treatment, and the use of virtual reality in medical care.
