Warsaw opens nominations for Best Athletes awards

Nominations are now open for the 27th edition of the Best Athletes of Warsaw plebiscite. Candidates can be submitted until November 15 via electronic application.

A jury will select winners in four categories: Best Athlete of the Year, Best Athlete in Barrier-Free Sport, Coach of the Year, and Sporting Personality of the Year. Additionally, a public internet vote will be held between December 11, 2026, and January 17, 2027, to determine the Most Popular Athlete of the Year and the Sporting Team of the Year.

Tomasz Majewski, a two-time Olympic champion, currently serves as the chairperson of the plebiscite jury. The initiative aims to promote sports among Warsaw residents and recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence and exemplary sporting attitudes.
