Warsaw Parking Rules Allow Unlimited Stay with Payment Requirements

Polish traffic regulations do not set a maximum duration for a vehicle parked in the same spot on public roads or in public car parks, provided the car is properly registered, insured and complies with all rules. As a result, a correctly parked vehicle in Warsaw can remain in place for weeks if needed.

Removal is possible only when the vehicle creates a hazard, appears abandoned, blocks traffic, is parked in a no‑stop zone, lacks registration plates, or shows signs of disuse such as broken windows or missing wheels. In such cases the city guard or police may order towing at the owner’s expense.

In Warsaw’s Unmonitored Paid Parking Zone, drivers must either pay the parking fee according to the zone’s tariff or hold a valid subscription; failure to do so can trigger additional charges. Private lots owned by housing communities, shopping centers or companies operate under their own rules, which may impose time limits or towing provisions.
