Warsaw police intervention at Adam Borowski office sparks controversy
A police intervention at the office of anti-communist activist Adam Borowski in Warsaw has sparked significant political debate. During the incident, police detained a man identified as Piotr, who was reportedly participating in a protest near the Constitutional Tribunal.
Conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the nature of the encounter. The Warsaw Metropolitan Police reported that a man acted aggressively and attacked a female officer, causing a head injury, and noted that a knife was found concealed under his jacket. However, reports from TV Republika and subsequent corrections suggest the man lost consciousness and was carried away on a stretcher while handcuffed.
The Polish Press Agency (PAP) retracted a dispatch that claimed a police officer had been attacked with a knife following an intervention by MEP Jacek Ozdoba. Prime Minister Donald Tusk attributed the rise in aggression to political figures, while other politicians criticized the police for perceived brutality during the detention.
