Warsaw police investigate suspicious packages in Praga-Południe
Emergency services responded to a report of suspicious packages found on a park bench near Żupnicza Street in the Praga-Południe district of Warsaw on Wednesday, September 2.
Following reports from municipal guards and neighbors who noted an unpleasant smell, police cordoned off the area and deployed pyrotechnicians to assess the potential threat. The incident caused significant local disruption, forcing the diversion of several bus lines, including 102, 123, 173, and 202.
After a detailed inspection, technicians determined that the objects did not pose a danger. The packages were identified as lithium-ion battery packs, which had been left in a manner that triggered the security response due to their appearance and visible wiring.
