Warsaw ranks fourth among Europe's most cyclist-friendly cities

Warsaw has been ranked as the fourth most cyclist-friendly city in Europe, according to a global study published by Time Out magazine. The ranking, which was based on the opinions of over 24,000 internet users regarding the ease of cycling in their respective cities, saw Warsaw surpass established cycling hubs such as Stockholm, Seville, and Rotterdam.

In the European standings, Warsaw follows only Cambridge, Copenhagen, and Vienna. Cambridge secured the top spot in Europe with an 83.2% positive rating, attributed to its flat terrain, mild climate, and urban design. Copenhagen placed second, while Vienna took third.

The study aimed to identify the 20 most cyclist-friendly cities globally, limiting entries to one city per country to ensure diversity. Consequently, while the Netherlands is widely recognized for cycling culture, only Rotterdam was included in the list. The findings highlight a shift in European metropolises where cycling is increasingly viewed as a primary mode of transport rather than just a recreational activity.
