Dawid Kacprzyk at the center of Warsaw's South Hospital scandal

Former SOR coordinator Dawid Kacprzyk, a 28‑year‑old doctor who earned 1.6 million zł in 2025 while training as an anesthesiologist, is accused by former surgery chief Emil Jędrzejewski of serious misconduct at Warsaw’s South Hospital. Jędrzejewski told Channel Zero that patients died because “someone was learning,” that deceased bodies were scanned with a CT scanner to fabricate documentation, and that the emergency department was plagued by delays and improper consultations.

Kacprzyk denies the allegations, calling them false and defamatory. His lawyer Jacek Dubois warned that the former chief must retract his statements within hours or face a criminal defamation suit. The prosecutor’s office has opened investigations into possible financial irregularities, including a half‑million‑zł transfer Kacprzyk made to the hospital that was later returned because it could not be properly accounted for.

Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski announced he will request the General Prosecutor to launch urgent proceedings, while Prime Minister Donald Tusk, former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and other politicians have publicly commented on the case. The scandal has prompted audits by the city, the National Health Fund and the Supreme Medical Chamber, and has generated intense media coverage and public debate about patient safety and political abuse of public hospitals.
