Warsaw South Hospital death probe alleges cover‑up
Forensic technician Adam Ragiel, with 26 years of experience, claims the South Hospital in Warsaw attempted to hide the circumstances of an elderly patient’s death. The patient was found dead in a hospital bathroom about four hours after being admitted for acute diarrhoea. Ragiel says the hospital did not report the sudden, unexplained death to the prosecutor and instead ordered an internal autopsy in its own pathology department.
Ragiel urges the family to request a court‑ordered autopsy outside the hospital and a prosecutor‑led review of the documentation. He disputes the hospital’s explanation that the death resulted from cardiac problems, calling the handling of the case a “national scandal.” Recordings obtained by portal Zero capture staff remarks suggesting negligence, such as failing to monitor patients hourly and beginning the autopsy before receiving formal orders. Former head of the pathology unit Artur Habowski denied influencing the autopsy’s outcome but acknowledged inappropriate remarks in the recordings.
