Warsaw South Hospital dispute intensifies as doctors accuse each other of misconduct

In September 2025, a conflict erupted at Warsaw's South Hospital when Dr. Dawid Kacprzyk alleged that colleague Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski verbally and physically assaulted him. Kacprzyk's written report says Jędrzejewski shouted insults, made threats and pushed him. Prosecutors declined to open a criminal case, though witness statements were not disputed. The clash has become a focal point of broader controversies surrounding the hospital, including accusations by Jędrzejewski that the institution and Kacprzyk were responsible for medical errors that led to patient deaths.

Jędrzejewski has left the hospital and is suing for one million zlotys in alleged profits from the surgery department he headed. Kacprzyk, who resigned from a Warsaw district council seat after a prior scandal, returned 500,000 zlotys to the hospital, while reporting earnings of over 1.6 million zlotys in 2025. The dispute has drawn political attention, affecting the Civic Coalition, Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski and party minister Marcin Kierwiński, prompting municipal and ministerial audits.

On a related front, Kacprzyk’s attorney, Jacek Dubois, defended him on TVP Info, denying accusations that Kacprzyk logged excessive work hours and suggesting he worked up to 16 hours a day on the case. Dubois’s remarks sparked a wave of criticism and mockery on social media.
