Warsaw Stock Exchange prepares for major semi-annual reporting wave

The Polish financial market is entering a period of high activity as the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) prepares for a wave of 27 periodic reports, including 22 semi-annual statements. Major WIG20 companies such as KGHM, Dino Polska, PZU, and Budimex are scheduled to release their results, which will allow investors to assess corporate health following the first half of 2026.

Market sentiment has shown volatility. The WIG20 index recently faced downward pressure, dropping below the 4,000-point level due to selling activity in large-cap stocks like Allegro and energy companies such as PGE and Tauron. Meanwhile, KGHM's stock has seen declines as investors await its upcoming financial report on August 19, amid fluctuations in global copper prices.

In the broader economic landscape, European banks have shown significant growth, outperforming the US 'Magnificent Seven' since early 2023. Additionally, the technology sector continues to see massive interest, with companies like Anthropic projected to reach revenues of up to $200 billion by 2028, driven by the ongoing artificial intelligence boom.
