Warsaw Stock Exchange shows mixed performance amid index records

The Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) has experienced periods of significant growth, with major indices reaching historical records. In August, the broad WIG index gained 3.50%. However, performance among universal Polish equity funds showed notable divergence. While the average return for this group was 3.12%, individual results varied significantly, ranging from a high of 5.08% by VIG / C-QUADRAT Akcji to a low of 1.73% by Velo Fund Akcji Polskich.

Market volatility has also been observed, with recent sessions seeing the WIG20 index struggle to maintain momentum after a period of gains. While large-cap companies have shown signs of recovery with modest gains, mid-cap and small-cap indices like mWIG40 and sWIG80 have faced difficulties staying in positive territory.
