Warsaw unveils monument to General Tadeusz Jordan-Rozwadowski
A monument dedicated to General Tadeusz Jordan-Rozwadowski, the first Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, was unveiled on October 26 in front of the General Staff headquarters in Warsaw. The ceremony coincided with the anniversary of the General Staff's establishment.
During the event, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized the historical importance of the monument, noting that Rozwadowski was a key architect of the 1920 victory during the Battle of Warsaw. He highlighted that the General's contributions were historically minimized, particularly following the May Coup of 1926, where Rozwadowski stood in defense of the legal government.
The unveiling caused temporary traffic disruptions in Warsaw, including the closure of Rakowiecka Street between Aleja Niepodległości and Wiśniowa Street, and changes to tram line 19 services.
