Warsaw to host 17th European Sociological Association Conference in 2026
The 17th European Sociological Association (ESA) Conference is scheduled to take place in Warsaw from August 25 to 28, 2026. The event, themed ‘Strengthening Democracies: Social Action, Solidarity, and Sustainable Futures’, will host over 3,200 researchers from 68 countries.
The conference program will be distributed across several venues. The opening ceremony and first plenary session will be held at the COS Torwar hall on August 25. The main scientific program will be hosted at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) campus on August 26 and 27, with the final day of proceedings moving to the University of Warsaw on August 28.
Discussions will address critical contemporary societal challenges, including political participation, inequality, migration, climate change, labor, education, health, urban transformation, new technologies, and artificial intelligence. The event features thousands of papers presented through 42 ESA research networks and various joint sessions.
