Warsaw to implement strict weapons ban for Independence Day

The Ministry of Interior and Administration has published a draft regulation imposing a strict ban on weapons in Warsaw for Independence Day on November 11, 2026. The prohibition covers the entire city area for the full day.

The regulation is notably broad, prohibiting not only the carrying of weapons but also the movement of unloaded weapons. This includes items stored in cases or vehicle trunks. Consequently, individuals such as hunters or sport shooters traveling through the capital may need to reroute to avoid the city limits.

Under the existing law on weapons and ammunition, the term “weapon” extends beyond firearms to include pneumatic weapons and incapacitating launchers.
