Warsaw West Station assailant ordered into three‑month temporary detention

Police arrested a 27‑year‑old man suspected of carrying out two assaults at the West Station in Warsaw on 10 and 11 July. The attacks injured a 40‑year‑old Belarusian woman and a 52‑year‑old man. Investigators from the Criminal Department of the Warsaw Railway Police, in cooperation with the Life and Health Crime Unit, quickly identified the suspect, who has a history of drug‑related offences and crimes against life and property.

The prosecutor charged him with violating bodily integrity (art. 217 § 1 of the Penal Code) and violating the function of a body organ (art. 157 § 2). The court approved the prosecutor’s request and placed the suspect in a three‑month temporary detention order.

The detention will remain in effect while further evidence is gathered by the district prosecutor’s office in Warsaw‑Ochota.
