Warsaw‑Radom Airport faces 61 million zł loss, staff cuts and prosecutor probe

Polskie Porty Lotnicze (PPL) reported that the Warsaw‑Radom Airport recorded a loss of about 61 million zł in 2025. The airport, built with an 850 million zł investment for an expected 3 million passengers a year, served only around 95 000 passengers in 2025. A subsidy of 17 million zł from the Radom municipality reduces the net cost to roughly 44 million zł.

To curb the deficit, PPL plans to cut 20‑30 % of the workforce, reducing staff from about 180 positions by 36‑54 jobs and consolidating some functions, such as moving the IT department to the company’s Warsaw headquarters. The prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into possible mismanagement by former airport managers, though no charges have been filed.

PPL is also seeking additional funding from the Ministry of Defence, citing the airport’s dual civil‑military role, while exploring other revenue sources to improve the airport’s financial outlook.
